Why We

Climb Mountains

Facing Our Fears is the Most Challenging Aspect of Life

Don't Let Your Fears Overcome You!

‘it is not ease but effort – not facility but difficulty that makes men… sweet indeed are the uses of adversity… they reveal to us our powers… without difficulty we would be worth less… the road to success is steep to climb.’

-  Samuel Smiles, 1859

Every veteran knows, how you prepare is how you will execute. Learn how Dr. K and Jody Holeton are preparing for their adventure!

We climb mountains to face our fears, overcome challenges, and for people like me . . . to slay demons. The Appalachian Trail thru-hike represents one of the greatest of all challenges. It's a 2,193 mile journey from Springer Mountain, GA to Katahdin, MA.
